Ever wonder why your best ideas come to you when you’re not trying too hard?

This has happened to me so many times. Or sometimes as soon as I stop looking for something which I’ve lost…. I’ll find it and can’t believe that it was there all along.




There’s a very good reason why these things happen.


And what’s even more interesting is there’s a way to make sure they happen more often (without living in the shower!)


Firstly…


Here’s the reason they happen..


Our minds are constantly churning up thoughts.


We’re always working hard trying to figure things out, stay on top of things, stay busy, stay ahead, find things, we’re always doing.. doing.. doing… busy.. busy.. busy..


We’re running interference in our heads, blocking up the channels for insight and inspiration.


We leave no room or space for ideas to come through.


When we take moments during the day to switch our focus away from our busy thoughts and onto our physical sensations, we increase the chances of having more lightbulb moments and having more peace and clarity.


Try this…


Next time you need to get yourself a drink, pause for a moment. Take 20 seconds (that’s it!!) to notice the weight of your feet on the floor, the feeling of your breath as it enters your body, how your chest and belly expand with each inhale and contract with each exhale, the feeling of your fingertips rubbing together.


Do this as often as you can during the day and see what begins to happen.


Taking these moments to direct your focus on to your senses will do more for you than you can possibly imagine
